Description (scope):
One of two photograph albums containing captioned photographs of historical Tientsin (nowadays Tianjin), a 1904 visit to Ku Ling hill station in the city of Kiukiang (nowadays Jiujiang, Hubei provence, China), and to the Yangtze River gorges in Yichang (Hubei, China) with Chinese local life-saving boats. Photographs of Kilkeel (County Down, Northern Ireland, UK), from 1905, and London (England, UK) are also included.
Archival history and notes:
Most photographs in this album are of landscapes in the Yangtze River area in China. Some of the photos were taken from mountains above the Yangtze River and its first gorge.
Custodial history:
Placed in the Centre by the family in 1997.
