to two rifle men, who laid down and fired whilst the others threw grenades. I see that the English papers have exaggerated this action greatly, & the accounts are most misleading. For instance the Special Correspondent of the Morning Post says that we advanced five kilometres and took 800 prisoners; the hill itself is only form 100 to 150 yards from our trenches, & the number of prisoners were 2 officers and about 20 men. Such misleading statements as these do far more harm than good - & tend to make people at home think that everything we do is successful.
