guns have an allowance of 10 rounds & heavies 20 rounds a day - wet & mild . Three battalions March to Locre to billet there. Brigade Headquarters moved there also at 4pm Jan 6, 7, 8 Billet at Locre nothing happening - 27th Division passes through to take up new line - Sir Charles Fergusson takes over command of the 2nd Corps of 2nd Army. Inspects the Royal Scots Fusiliers & praises the regiment for the work they have done in the war. He is an Ayr man himself and his father commanded the militia Battalion for some years.
