bright moon which makes the reliefs difficult - from reports received we have come to the conclusion that the Germans now holding the trenches are a new lot - they fire a good deal & it is a bit wild.
Jan 25 A misty cold day with a hard frost last night. The lake at the Chateau is frozen over - we are expecting a possible move of the Germans tomorrow being the Kaiser's birthday & orders are issued for units to be on the qui vive.
