Jan 31 "nothing to report" note by Editor Feb 1 Relieved 7th Brigade in the trenches Feb 2-5th at KEMMEL except on the 3rd when the Germans put a good many shell into the village & round about it. Was a very clear bright morning & aeroplanes were busy - they must have seen someone on the move. The Gunners put it down to our guns firing at night. The enemy quite possibly saw the flashes and so got the line - 100 shells chiefly 5 inch were fired on to one spur searching for our battery but it was not found.
