Apr 3rd-4th Relief finishes on 4th, and I relieve General Chapman at DICKEBUSCH. Apr 5 Ride round the billets in the morning & in the afternoon walk over to Voormezeele which is knocked about a bit by shells. Raining hard all day & the ground is very muddy. The following is the sick state for March 5th Fusiliers 82 sick 614 strength R " 103 " 764 " Lincolns 100 " 567 " Royal Scots Fusiliers 98 " 534 " Liverpool Scottish 45 " 710 " Apr 6 Visited the billets and looked round the huts which are very damp & uncomfortable & not fit for the men to live in. Very wet and windy.
