& Les Rues des Vignes & they managed to establish themselves on the high ground overlooking the latter & held the Revelon Chateau. Orders had been issued to this Brigade to destroy the bridges over the canal at Crevecourt & Rue des Vignes but owing to bad liaison work between Royal Engineers & Infantry this was never done, although two or three attempts were made. At the end of the day therefore the 6th Division had captured Ribecourt & Cantaing, the 29th Division Neuf Wood, Marcoing & Masnieres, the 20th Division in the trenches to the south of Marcoing Copse in advance of the Hindenburg support with the 59th Brigade holding the Cemetery & Revelon Chateau & extended towards Lateaux [sic] Wood.
