is overlooking most of ours one can get a good view of his trenches and the country behind. My Headquarters are now in the Chateau at Bus les Artois. In the afternoon I motored over to Henu to see General Hull commanding 56th Division on my left. The road was very dusty & rough. Our division is at present attached to the 8th Corps which is commanded by General Hunter Weston who commanded the famous 29th Division in [the - crossed out] Gallipoli. 28 July 1916 Still hot & the glass rising. A brigade of this division relieved a brigade in the line by daylight which I never remember being possible in any other line. I walked round some of the battery positions & observation posts very quiet
