Brigades move south, one [Brigade] at Beauval. Drive to Toutencourt to see demonstration of flame projectors etc. The small flamenwerfer can be worked by two men & throws a flame about 40 yards useful for village and wood fighting. Others much larger will throw a ton or more of oil. These are laid in mine galleries & fired close to the enemy trenches. Receive orders to take over from the 24th Division commanded by General Capper. His division is in the Guillemont front.

Relief takes place on 21st with two brigades in the line ordered to attack Guillemont on the 24th. This strong point has been attacked several times already and troops
