and the trenches are falling in in many places. We cannot get any good revitting [sic] materials which is badly wanted. 11 December 1915 Visited the trenches which were flooded – mud in some of the communication trenches over ones knees – weather is mild still. 12 December 1915 Voormezeele heavily shelled at about 10.30am & some of the dug outs destroyed. Our artillery was called on to retaliate in accordance with a scheme which had been prepared. Visited T trenches they are still we & are falling in. 13 December 1915 Relieved by 8th Brigade bright moon & frosty – reliefs finish at 10pm – two battalions train to Poperinghe & the others march to Reninghelst 14-21 December 1915 Rest at RENINGHELST
