If only Italy would join the Triple Entente things might look a little rosier but just at present it looks as if she intends to maintain her neutrality. I was glad to see that Commander in Chief's despatches brought to notice that owing to shortage of heavy artillery ammunition, our attack down South ten days ago proved a failure, on our right with plenty of ammunition succeed- ed in making a substantial advance 17-23 May 1915 A very quiet week – the German Artillery has been very quiet, and ours are waiting for more ammunition.
