At 1230am most of the huts occupied by 5th Fusiliers were burnt down – the cause of the fire not yet know, but it is probably due to a lighted cigarette end thrown on the straw. 28 May 1915 Relieve the 85th Brigade three battalions in the front line and two battalions in reserve in woods north west of Ypres. Our headquarters in some very good dug outs on the canal bank, reliefs finished by mid night without a hitch.
