8 November 1915 Lunched with General Trenchard at St OMER and was shown over his flying school in the afternoon. One machine had just arrived from Paris – its speed is over 90 miles an hour. Most of the machines I saw were armed with two Lewis guns. We were shown bombs from 20lbs to 400lbs 9 November 1915 Rode round billets, & saw the regiments at work. A gas demonstration in the morning. 21 November 1915 [Royal Scots Fusiliers – crossed out] March to Poperinghe & billet there for the night. 22 November 1915 Relieve the 72 Brigade Commanded by General Mitford. Very quiet relief finishes by 9.30pm. 23 November 1915 Visited trenches of Royal Fusiliers. & Scots Fusiliers all very wet and falling in.
