[Inserted postcard, addressed to 'Wm Douglas Smith New Barracks Gosport' postmarked 29 Sep 1914 28th September Fairlie saw V Borwick yesterday, wife of Captain M Borwick of the Greys. She had a letter dated 17th. The Greys & Royal Scots Fusiliers have been together, he wrote, close to Soisson, said they had a v bad day on 14th & pretty bad 13th & that the Royal Scots Fusiliers were magnificent gallant fellows & that everyone in that part of the fight was taking off there [sic] hats to the Royal Scots Fusiliers & the Guards! Nice hearing - isn't it? He also said he saw [illegible] glad the Greys are next them – they are such a nice lot. [signature: Boyle?]]
