they will be turned out before long. I do not think it was altogether a very creditable affair as they had allowed the Germans to come up close to their trenches before taking any measures to stop them. A counter attack was made & the Germans (if there were any) were driven out of the village, but our troops failed to retake the mound. The Division holding this line is the 27th & is composed of English brigades from India & Egypt which one would have thought were the finest troops in the army - but either they were sick, or had had a bad time of it
