Mar 22nd Beautiful warm day - everyone is enjoying the rest. Huts much improved since our last rest Mar 23 Carry out experiment with trench mortar, & hand grenades in the morning - ride of to see General Bowes in the afternoon - he is not very fit....... Mar 24 a good boxing show in the evening Mar 25 Sir Horace S.D. came in to see us - very cheery as usual. Concert in barn - largely attended. Germans manage to shell VLAMERTINGHE at night - a large shell managed pitched into the camp of the 5th Fusiliers but did no damage.
