missile owing to the difficulty of lighting the fuse and it detonates very quickly. I think this form of bomb would be very useful to throw at attackers, or from a house during street fighting; if thrown from the trench you have to expose yourself a little in order to get any impetus, and even then it is difficult to throw it more than 30 yards. The hand grenade is also difficult to throw any distance from a trench and it has to be swung several times round the head.
