Dec 22nd Quiet day visit Headquarters Liverpool Scottish after dark Dec 23 Leave granted from 25th to 30th snows for about an hour but is not very cold Dec 24- 30 Off to England for a few days leave On return from England hear that I have been appointed Brigadier General to Command the 9th Infantry Brigade - regret leaving the regiment for many reasons as I have only been with them for four (2 1/2?) months on service, & I should like to have brought it home.
