The Germans apparently had attacked some of the trenches of the 27th & 28th Divisions. The attack was preceded by an artillery bombardment and followed up by an infantry attack. Some of the trenches were taken but at 5.30am this morning a Counter attack was made and the trenches recaptured. We are still ready to turn out if required. Snowed for about an hour this afternoon but it is not very cold. Boxing show at night. Feb 17th Received orders at about 12 midday to march the Brigade to Ypres to reinforce the 28th Division - leave LOCRE at
