billet at WESTOUTRE Dec 1st Inspected billets. General Bowes came in during afternoon - warm with rain Dec 2nd Rode to 3rd Division Headquarters in connection with Royal Visit. A draft of 52 Royal Scots with 4 Royal Scots officers & one 2nd Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers officer arrived in the morning - Major Dick also reported himself. Dec 3rd The King visited the troops. 50 Non Commissioned Officers & men from each unit in the brigade formed up in hollow square near LOCRE under Brigadier General Bowes. The King arrived at pm & pinned decorations on the men who had been rewarded them - the troops of each brigade lined the roads and gave three cheers as His Majesty passed
