time. This movement was well carried out & there were no casualties. By about 10 am the second objective was captured by all three divisions and the 59th Brigade began to move forward down the La Vacquerie Valley. Up to now the Infantry casualties had been reported as slight. In some places pockets of the enemy held up the advance but as soon as they were out flanked they either surrendered or tried to escape. Some of the tanks had received direct hits from the German guns & some were pierced by armour piercing bullets but the infantry advanced without them.
