Bonavis & the trenches west of Banteux. The Fourth Corps had captured Flesquieres, Havrincourt, Moeuvres & Graincourt. It was only by the use of tanks that the Infantry were able to get through the many lines of thick wire. Destruction by guns of this wire would have taken weeks to accomplish. Some of the tanks were fitted with grappling irons & these cleared wide passages through the wire to enable the cavalry to pass through. 21 November 1917 Desultory fighting in Rue Des Vignes where some of our men were holding the bridges and attempting to clear the Germans out [sic] the village. 22-29 November 1917 Positions were being consolidated & units reorganized.
