The 16th Division now relieved us & my headquarters were transferred to "Forked Tree Camp". 5-8 September 1916 The Brigades moved to the area Corbie-Mericourt with the Divisional Headquarters at the former. 12 September 1916 Moved back to Forked Tree Camp and the brigades camp at the Citadel & the Sandpits. 13-15 September 1916 The 61st Brigade attached to the Guards Division to assist in the attack on the German line west of Les Boeufs. The attack of the Guards was more or less of a failure. Their advance was stopped by machine gun fire from the north and they had heavy casualties.
