rained during the night. 28 September 1916 Dry and very warm more like mid August. Moved to Forked Tree Camp. Corps Conference in the afternoon at which the Corps Commander explains future policy. Sailly Saillesel to be attacked by the French & Le Transloy by the British. This is to take place on October 10th. In the mean time the 20th & 56th Divisions which will be in the line tomorrow are to push forward posts as far as possible & gain ground so as to get within 200 yards of the German position. German aeroplanes last night dropped bombs on the back area, casualties 25 personnel & 100 horses. The area is so densely packed with troops etc for five or six miles behind the line that wherever
