south of Serbia will be attacked and as they are very weak, it ought to be an easy job for the enemy to drive them back. The 9th Brigade relieves the 8th Brigade in the trenches tonight – it is a terribly wet night & the relief will be difficult. 7 December 1915 The reliefs were completed by 9.30pm much sooner than I expected – visited the West Yorks & Royal Scots Fusiliers – the trenches are very bad, & a great portion of some of them have fallen in. Fairly clear day & quite mild. 8 December 1915Walked to VOORMEZEELE in the morning & in the evening went round the trenches of 5 Fusiliers 4.30 to 9.30pm – country very muddy & ground very slippery makes it difficult to keep ones feet.
