and orderlies live in cellars which run the whole way under the house, & there is room for about 500 men. The Cavalry Division & 8th Brigade also have their head quarters here. 3 June 1915 Took over new line last night, it is due east from ZILLEBEKE & with little care one can visit the trenches by day. The German trenches are from 200 yards in some places to 50 yards from our trenches. The Royal Fusiliers & Lincolns have been lent to the cavalry on our left, & occupy trenches round HOOGE. In November I had my headquarters in this village, so our line has come back 1700 yards since then. 4 June 1915 The Germans commenced shelling this school at 7am this morning & continued putting in some heavy shell
