25-28 June 1915 Visit Hooge defences very wet. Everything fairly quiet. Germans shelled [St EIOI – crossed out] the Ecole last night & set it on fire. A few men wounded. This has been used for some time as Brigade Head Quarters & a medical collecting station during an action. I hear the cellars are still intact – a great deal of rain fell again last night. 29 June 1915 Visited Hooge defences in the afternoon settled details [with – crossed out] in connection with the proposed operations.
