My manifold transactions with the Turkish Government, my extensive circle of acquaintances among all classes of Turkish society have since then enabled me to acquire a thorough knowledge of the language, the nation & the way it is to be dealt with. I was 1st Class Interpreter to the Commissariat of the Osmanli Irregular Cavalry during the war with Russia & have satisfactory testimonials as to my ability from officers in H.B.M.'s Service.
