IWM description: 'Lawrence with delegates from the Cairo Conference in Amman. From left to right, Gertrude Bell, Major Welsh, Lawrence, Sir Herbert Samuel, Emir Abdullah and Majid el Sultan Adwan. The Conference agreed that Emir Feisal should be offered the throne of Iraq, subject to approval by plebiscite. Emir Abdullah was offered the throne of Transjordan on similar terms.'
